What's New
The Fairchester Green Building Council is a new, non-profit organization serving the Fairfield and Westchester region. The conviction of over 600 commercial and residential real estate professionals who value what we are working to achieve, is our mandate to support the implementation of sustainability across our region.
Our goal is to identify the reasons why sustainable solutions are not chosen. These may include a perceived cost premium, limited local availability or not knowing which products meet the standards of a rating system such as LEED.
Together, as the local green building community, we are creating and sharing viable, cost effective sustainable solutions to encourage local implementation. This, in turn, improves business for all by increasing both green supply and green demand.
By sharing Best Practices, we eliminate perceived cost premiums, limited local availability and lack of information of which products meet the various standards (such as LEED).
